I've got the best husband...

He knows I enjoy dancing and learning to dance. He asked Rodolfo to teach us how to salsa. Here are a few photos from last night. Thanks honey. The last one is Rodo showing me what I needed to do. Greg didn't appreciate the demonstration. funny

Team building and fun....

The boys went on a field trip to a ropes course yesterday. They learned a lot about working together as a team. They learned of leading, following, listening, and giving instructions so that others could understand what to do. I know that I will be writing a lot about one anothering this year. However I found myself learning a lot through my children. I won't get too theological or philosophical now as I don't have time. However stay tuned as I will later I am sure.

Don't know it til you try it.....

Today our boys went to a ropes course. On element was a high climb and walk across a wire. Today some did it and others were wanting to try. It got me thinking as we approach summer and Greg and I both will be attempting new things. For me I will be trying to pull together 2 quinceaneras for 2 girls from Manantial de Amor. For Greg it will be planning project and leading groups on a regular basis to three locations for 8 weeks. Just as I saw today how different kids handled the pressure, I am reminded of how differently Greg and I handle pressure. I process out loud and he is an inward thinker. We rest assured that anything God calls us to, he will also give us what we need to accomplish it. 2 Peter 1:3 "His divine power gives us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness." Would you pray for us and we are depending on him to give us what we need and trying to step out in faith this summer in new ways?

Photos from Matacanes

Here are some photos. One of Greg jumping off a cliff. Yes, he was told to take his helmet off as the pressure when he hit would hurt his chin. He jumped a 30 and 45 foot jump. One picture is him climbing up a waterfall. Thanks to some strong guys that helped us all up it. One picture is me and others swimming. We hiked but mostly swam or waded. There is a picture of a cave we went into. We swam through it to the waterfall. Usually the water is super clear but because of rain and residue from forrest fires, it was not. We had a ball. Thought you'd enjoy seeing it.
Groups here this week so we've been really busy.

One Anothering.......

This is the theme of our next year here at Back2Back beginning in June. One Another. We will be looking at, studying and living about all the one another's found in the Bible. I'm sure you can think of them with me - Love one another, encourage one another, submit to one another, forgive one another. Just to name a few. Yesterday 14 of us staff went to a place called Matacanes. Google it on the internet. It is a well know area to hike and do adventure kind of stuff. For us this included, climbing next to a waterfall, jumping off rocks into the water, swimming through a dark cave and lots of rock hiking, swimming and sliding down rocks. We completed our trek after 10 hours of really cold water, a little rain and a Lot of One Another. Mostly encouraging one another, loving one another, supporting one another, (figuratively and literally). After reading, studying and discussing all the one anothers over the last month of so, it is so God to show us this first hand. We all struggled during the day. For some it was falling, for others they struggled with high places to reach, for one, he twisted an ankle, for others they were struggling with fatigue or weakness. Each time the Lord provided what we needed. Sometimes it took, one of us laying down their bodies so that others could hold on. Sometimes others lifted up ones. Sometimes others carried those who could not walk. Each time I could see Jesus. When one suffered we all suffered and did not move on until we all came through ok.
Today I am sore. My knees are scraped. I am feeling my age. However my heart is dancing. And I have often replayed the moments in my mind. Thank you Lord for community, for how you have enabled us to share in one another's lives. I will post photos after we get our photos from our water camera developed.

A Mother's Day to remember......

Recently I have found myself busy with ministry and putting my family last. Sunday the Lord gave us all day together and it couldn't have been better. We went rock climbing, hiking in Huesteca. The mountains are gorgeous and our boys were very brave. Then we came home to swim. Had the pool to ourselves- a rarity with 80 or so living here. Then went out to eat for dinner. Recieved a purse, jewlery and a jewlery holder. I am so blessed . Lord, thank you to my three boys and Greg. Oh yeah, we saw an albino donkey, wild horses and other donkeys too.

Mother's Day in the Rio.....

Saturday was Mother's day here in Mexico. I spent a good part of the day at the Rio helping Meme. Five teen girls went with me, Marilin,Claudia, Perla, Edith, and Olga. We helped prepare food, we gave out brand new clothes, served lunch and dessert. I had the opportunity to share with the kids and then teacher them how to make paper flowers for their moms. Meme spoke on being a Proverbs 31 women. I sat next to one women who lives at the Rio by herself. She has 8 children however only her daughter in law visits her with her four granddaughters. Julia and her granddaughters are pictured above. God is so good in giving me so much joy in being a part of this ministry. I babysat for a ministry couple who has six children ages 8 months to 8 years old the night before . Needless to say I didn't get much sleep. The night before the teens asked to come with me. A definite example that God doesn't ask you to do more than you are able and He always gives you the ways or strength to do it. They were a godsend. Meme has blessed so many by being obedient to way God has asked her to do.

God has given me the opportunity to try my Spanish in public.

Tomorrow is Mother's Day here. I will give a short message on Col.3:20 for the 80 or so kids at the Rio. Would you pray with me that God will allow my Spanish to be understood? I'm excited to try out my Spanish in a public forum. Talking to the kids is helpful as they seem to understand my developing Spanish however mothers will be there too. Pray that I am obedient and leave the results to God.
It's hard for us to concentrate much sense yesterday. A great friend of ours from Pleasant View Church is fighting for his life in the hospital. Please pray for Phil, Gwen, their children Phil Jr. Scott and Joann and the rest of his family. Thank you. Its so reassuring to know you are praying with us. Thank you for your support.

Please pray.....

Today a girl who was in our Hope program for just a year or two, had a baby by c-section. The boy who is the father is not in the picture. She is 20 or so. She is struggling with whether to keep the baby of give it up for adoption. She has made many poor choices in her life and has exhibited poor judgement in the past. She has talked about not wanting her baby most of her pregnancy and so far has refused to see him. She called the staff of B2B as she had no money to pay for the procedure and here they won't admit you without payment up front. Three of our staff are currently with her. Will you pray with me for God's guidance and wisdom to be shown to her? Would you pray that she would see God's hand in the decision she is to make? Thank you for all of the people that you are joining us in prayer for. She and her baby are well. Adoptions here in Mexico are so difficult because the mother often changes her mind. Would you pray that if she makes the decision to give him up that it would be final and she would not change her mind? If she keeps the boy, that God would work wonders in her life and allows her to see her responsibilities with this little guy. Thank you
