Ice skating with the girls......

Connie and Edgar, the directors of Manantial de Amor, recently found out that they are expecting twins. She is due in October. Kathy, Ruby and I took 11 girls out ice skating today. This allowed Connie, Edgar and their two girls time to themselves. We had a great time talking, skating, and eating McDonald's ice cream. It was a great way to spend a really rainy day.

".........But I the Lord will answer them........."

Isaiah 41:17-20
God always keeps his promises. I hope these pictures will show you how much rain God has given us. And that is just from today. Yesterday we had more downpours. Imperio de Amor was storing water in the pool to use. I am sure God has refilled that pool and I am praying that we will hear He has filled their well as well. Thank you for your prayers. Praise God. may we see and know, consider and understand that the hand of the Lord has done this and that the Holy One of Israel has created it.
Thank you for your prayers.

Other prayer requests

We have so much that we are doing that Satan would love to tear this down.
Will you pray for the following for our staff
- good communication amongst our staff as we plan for the summer
- strong marriages and any needs for reconciliation
-serving in the direction that God leads
-each of our own relationships with Christ to be strong and first and foremost.

Thank you.
Oh Yeah, more rain.......

God continues to do new things.....

This is Benny with a small business of making clothes and selling them in the Rio. She has a dream to grow her business to sustain her family and perhaps employ others in her neighborhood. We recently had a group of men come along with Back2Back to see if God is leading us to help people in the Rio and the Cadereyta help themselves through self sustaining business. People like Benny would receive micro loans that enable them to buy the machine that would help her sew the clothes she knows would sell in her neighborhood. She has a daughter who teaches dance to young girls. On top of making blouses and skirts, she would love to make dance costumes for these girls. Please pray as this group of men come up with a process to give Benny the chance to suceed then pay back the money with a little interest to then allow others to start their own businesses. Thanks for our prayers and I'll keep you posted.

Praying for rain.......

We are praying for rain and ask you do the same. A new casa hogar that we've been working with for a few months now has no water. Their well went dry almost a month ago. They have about 40-50 kids and in desperate need of our prayers. e have had little to no rain since before the first of the year. They have tried digging a new well and after 80 meters (roughly over 240 feet) there is no water.
As I was praying yesterday the Lord put Isaiah 41:17-20 on my heart. I believe it is a promise to Imperio de Amor. He will provide and His name will be glorified because of it.
"The poor and needy search for water but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the Lord will answer them, I, the God of Israel, will not forsaken them. I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the deserts into pools of water and the parched ground into springs. I will put into the desert the cedars and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive. I will set pines in the wastelands, the fir and the cypress together, so that people will see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the Lord has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it."
Will you join us as we cry out to Him to fulfill His promise soon?

Happy birthday Ben.........

Our first born is now 11. His feet our bigger than mine and he is gaining on me in heighth as we speak. Ben chose a different kind of gathering. He invited both girls and guys for games, dinner, cake and a movie then had the boys stay for a sleepover. Our baby is growing up.

Please Pray for Meme

She is needing rest and many prayers as she continues to serve the people of the Rio. She is feeding them spiritually and physically. She has a teaching for the kids and then a teaching for the adults and follows it with a meal. Please pray as she works all week and then goes home to work some more. Every Saturday she serves her neighbors. She recently went to the doctor and he told her that her body needed more rest. Pray the Lord will give her rest and that others will rise up to help her carry the load.

The gift of sharing lives together.....

One of my jobs is to debrief a group. I have the opportunity to welcome a group from the US, tell them the rules, their schedule, etc. Then every night we sit and reflect on what God had done in and through them. This last week I worked with a group from Virginia. They bring with them something different than every other group that comes. They have a program with clowning, story telling, puppets and share the gospel. It was a joy to debrief this group at night. I don't get to go with these groups very often but after I debrief them I feel like I was there. This part of my role here allows me to share lives with these group members. I am grateful for this opportunity. Its a reminder to me how God gives us opportunities to share lives with others all the time. Sometimes though we really need to make an effort to do so. Sometimes it means turning off the tv and going to a neighbors house to see how they are. Sometimes its calling someone that I've been praying for. Sometimes its getting out of a sad mood I'm in or pitty party that I have and investing in another's live. I'm attaching some photos of when this group shared with our own staff kids. They not only shared their program but they also taught our kids a skit and face painted them. They shared their lives with us. Our kids what soon forget their mesage of Christ's salvation and their kind and giving hearts.
